NAQSHBANDIA The Naqshbandia tradition is a Sufi Brotherhood which was brought to light by a 14th Century Bokharan, Bahauddin Naqshband. The central theme of Bahauddin's teaching focuses on a deep respect for the relationship between one's inner or spiritual life and the outer world of work, family and worldly responsibilities. As opposed to the typical practise in the Muslim world of reciting prayers aloud Bahauddin stressed the importance of the practise of internal, silent prayer - Zikr Huffia. |
This concept amongst other teachings came in dreams to Bahauddin from Abd-al-Khaliq Ghujduwani, a 13th Century Master of the Khwajagan lineage. Bahauddin was considered to be a "Master of Dreams", and was consulted to help people unravel their nocturnal visions. |
